This section provides basic information advice and assistance in dealing with your housing problem, including how to access the Council's Housing Options Service, if you need further help because you are homeless or threatened with homelessness within the next 2 months or so.

The Housing Options Service provides advice and assistance to households and individuals who are experiencing housing difficulties. Early contact with the service may help you resolve your problem and prevent a homelessness situation.
WHAT CAN WE DO?
Help you to stay in your current home by advising you of your tenancy rights and prevent you from becoming homeless for example when your landlord wants you to leave.
Offer advice on securing alternative accommodation e.g. the Mortgage Rescue Scheme, Social Lettings Agency, Housing Association accommodation and supported accommodation.
Refer you to specialist services such as floating support services, mediation service and specialist advice agencies
Advise you if you have rent arrears or other financial difficulties
Give advice to those experiencing domestic abuse
Advise of rights regarding landlord disputes
Help explore housing options including accessing the private rented sector and supported accommodation
Assess whether you are homeless and advise on temporary accommodation arrangements
The Housing Options Service operate a TELEPHONE ADVICE SERVICE
An expert advisor can offer help, support and advice and may also be able to prevent you from becoming Homeless
